Borgo Allegri is situated in the area of Santa Croce. Nearby is Piazza Ciompi, which is reknowned for the Loggia dei Pescatori. Today we find the Flea Market which continues onto Via San Giuseppe, which then brings us  to Piazza Santa Croce. This square is famous  for the Church which takes it's name from and also for the sporting event of Calcio Storico. This is one of the most important events during the summer season in Florence, continung towards the Lungarno we find the Library (Biblioteca Centrale) the biggest in Italy and also one of the biggest in Europe.
Moving into Via Ghibellina we find Enoteca Pinchiorri, which is no doubt one of the most prestigous restaurants of Europe.
